Low-impact sports:
Sports such as hiking, swimming, Nordic walking and cycling are ideal and have little impact on your joints. In addition, they support the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Exercise as part of your everyday life and in your spare time:
Whether we spend an evening out dancing, do some gardening, climb stairs or walk instead of driving – all of this is physical activity and should be incorporated in our everyday lives as often as possible.

The right diet:
Enough fruit and vegetables, wholegrain products and low-fat dairy products, unsweetened teas, water and squash are ideal dietary sources of important nutrients. They provide many vitamins and minerals but are also lower in calories. This is a healthy way to maintain our body weight. Too much body weight damages our joints, puts a strain on our cardiovascular system and thus makes physical activity more difficult.
